Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty) cautioned …

“Baking soda can cause a heart attack.”

According to Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary, Edition 17 (edited by Clayton L. Thomas,M.D., M.P.H.), 1940, 1993 …

“Avoid carbonates as neutralizers because, in the presence of strong acids, they will react to produce carbon dioxide gas. This may cause distention and rupture of the stomach.”

The Stomach Meridian (7:00-9:00 a.m.) is a “shunt” for the Pericardium Meridian (7:00-9:00 p.m.).

The verb “to shunt” means to turn away or follow a different path.

Shunts are used in electronics as circuit protectors, and the organs of the human body can serve a similar purpose for each other.

One organ can act as a surge protector for another organ.

The Stomach Meridian is also a shunt for the Small Intestine Meridian (1:00-3:00 p.m.) and a minor shunt for the Liver Meridian (1:00-3:00 a.m.).

Adano defined Heaven as balance, homeostasis, and the unified field.

He advised …

“Do the impossible – connect the brain to the heart.”

Connecting the brain to the heart is the major theme of the Bhagavad Gita.

Sartori “seeing into one’s true nature” can occur when a resting heart rate of one beat per second (60 beats a minute) resonates with a delta brain wave rate of one cycle per second (60 cycles a minute).

The reason I write “can occur” instead of “does occur” is because MOTIVE is a major – if not primary – factor.

The following story is from Ed Spielman’s The Mighty Atom: The Life and Times of Joseph L. Greenstein, 1979…

“Slim” – the Atom pinned him [Slim “The Hammerman” Farman] with his cryptic stare – “There is no such thing as an involuntary response.”

“The heartbeat?'”

“The mind can control the working of any organ, any part of the body. The brain rules the heart; not the other way around. I can regulate my own heartbeat, my pulse – I can commit suicide by breath control right now if I want to.”

“I believe you, Joe.”

“Of course you do. But mere belief is not enough. You must know. You must see for yourself.”

Slim knew that the old man was up to something. “What are you going to do?'”

“Don’t worry,’ Joe said, ‘just watch.”

There were about fifty people gathered before the Atom’s platform when he went up again.

“‘Is there a doctor or nurse present?” he asked.

“I’m a registered nurse.”A young woman stepped forward and offered her assistance.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” the Atom said, “in a conversation with my friend Slim, I told him that the heart is matter, and the mind rules matter. To demonstrate this I am going to stop my pulse.”

The audience waited for the punchline, but there was none; he was serious.

He sat down and the nurse placed her two fingers on his wrist.

“You’ve got a pulse like a horse,” she laughed.

The old man did not speak, but looked off into the distance; her smile suddenly disappeared.

“It’s starting to slow down,” she said, startled but continuing to measure with exactness.

“Even slower now.”

His face became colorless. “My God, I can’t feel it. It’s stopped!”

After about ten seconds, his pulse slowly returned, and five minutes later he was back to selling liniment.

After the lecture, the old man stood with his student beside the truck. “Now you know,” he said.”
