The timing of a woman’s menstrual cycle may be cultural rather than circadian.
Folks in Western cultures tend to pay homage to the Moon, and use it astheir external timekeeper.
Women in many cultures have everything from 2-week menstrual cycles to yearly ones.
A common cycle in “primitive” cultures is once every 6 months.
Hypnotists can calibrate (and have often done so) a woman’s menstrual cycle to almost any desired time period.
For example, over 100 years ago, some women were hypnotized to conveniently start their cycle on the first day of each month — it didn’t matter that the days varied from 28 to 31 days.
British sexologist Havelock Ellis (1859-1939) covered this subject extensively.
(I read most ofEllis’s books while researching at the Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library in Fort Worth.)
Havelock Ellis cited many amazing menstrual irregularities, including — are you ready for this? — a woman who regularly had her cycle through her nose!
Conservation of egg cells can lead to longevity, according to some medical authorities (of the slow eggs/fast bowels school of medicine).
Many female athletes lose their periods and save their eggs for a rainy day.
We’re constructed of a FISH and an EGG — a sperm and an ovum — which is why a sardine omelette is so healthy for your sex life when eaten at Circulation-Sex Time (7:00-8:00 pm).
