People with multiple personalities (dissociative identity disorder) often have multiple physiological conditions.

Daniel Goleman (“New Focus on Multiple Personality,” The New York Times, May 21, 1985) wrote …

“‘Some multiples carry several different eyeglasses, because their vision changes with each personality,’ said Bennett Braun, who directs a unit devoted to treating multiple personalities at the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Braun reports the case of a young woman who in one personality was colorblind for blue and green, a problem that ended with the successful treatment of her multiple-personality condition. Another woman, admitted to a hospital for diabetes, baffled her physicians by showing no symptoms of the disorder at times when one personality, who was not diabetic, was dominant. A young man was allergic to citrus fruit in some personalities, but not in others.”

Daniel Goleman (“Probing the Enigma of Multiple Personality,” The New York Times, Jun. 28, 1988) wrote …

“When Timmy drinks orange juice he has no problem. But Timmy is just one of close to a dozen personalities who alternate control over a patient with multiple personality disorder. And if those other personalities drink orange juice, the result is a case of hives.

“The hives will occur even if Timmy drinks orange juice and another personality appears while the juice is still being digested. What’s more, if Timmy comes back while the allergic reaction is present, the itching of the hives will cease immediately, and the water-filled blisters will begin to subside.”

According to “The Dilemma of Drug Therapy for Multiple Personality Disorder” (Chapter 5 of the Treatment of Multiple Personality Disorder, edited by Bennett G. Braun, M.D., 1986) …

“Clinicians have become accustomed to being able to predict the therapeutic, adverse, and side effects of prescription drugs with some degree of certainty. In most patient populations, such predictability is possible and assumed and guides our practice. However, this degree of certainty is the exception rather than the rule when we administer to or prescribe drug therapy for patients with multiple personality disorder (MPD). These individuals do not respond to drugs in a consistent and predictable manner. Different personalities in the same body may respond differently to a given dose of the same medication.”

According to the same source as above …

“Disease states in conditions such as asthma, diabetes, milk intolerance and allergic diseases, ulcers, and visual impairments may not be present in all personalities within the same MPD patient (Braun 1983b; Shepard and Braun 1985). It is not uncommon for an MPD patient to have multiple sets of eyeglasses or contact lenses to be used among various personalities within the system for whom their eyeglass prescriptions are specific. Instances have been noted within the same MPD patient where glycosuria may be quantitatively different among personalities, and caution must be exercised in using sliding scale insulin adjustments (Braun 1983a, 1983b).”

Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty) distinguished between the “brain activity of a diseased organ” and “atomic integration,” explaining …

“Anybody who talks to you will live in the illusion that his mind is eternal. Mind is a condition of sonics within a framework of gas.”

This reference comes from a NY Times Source of a book written by Braun in 1988. Times change – The story of Multiplicity deserves better research?

    No harm…

Nope. The reference comes from the book itself.

It’s available on Google Books. :)

The seven million pages of medical research being posted on the internet yearly is designed to frustrate anyone but the most dedicated truth-seeker.

A saying attributed to several authors goes, “If you steal from one author it’s plagiarism; if you steal from many it’s research.”

The Nazis implemented American eugenics philosophy. I’ve been thinking of writing a book about it. I’ve been researching the corporate American eugenics juggernaut for years. The racist “science” of eugenics (currently disguised as “biotechnology” and “genetic engineering”) was rampant in the late-nineteenth and early twentieth century U.S. American eugenics and racial sterilization programs inspired Hitler’s ethnic cleansing programs. Eugenics courses were taught at many U.S. universities, including Harvard, Stanford, Cornell, and Columbia. Detailed racial records were kept by the Eugenics Record Office (ERO) and the American Breeders Association (ABA). The list of eugenics and “racial cleansing” proponents, from the fanatical to the luke-warm, is long / George Reid Andrews (minister) / Leonard Arthur (1926-1983) / Lord Arthur Balfour (1848-1930) (member of EES) / William Bateson (1861-1926) / Edwin Baur (1875-1933) / Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922) / Luther Burbank (1849-1926) / Alexis Carrel (1873-1944) / Father Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955) / Winston Churchill (1874-1965) / Father Francis J. Connell / Calvin Coolidge (1872-1932) / Ellwood Cubberley (1868-1941) / Major Leonard Darwin (1850-1943) / George Eastman (1854-1932) / Charles William Eliot (1834-1926) / Havelock Ellis (1859-1939) / Irving Fisher (1867-1947) (president of Yale) / Ronald Fisher (1890-1962) / Henry Ford (1863-1947) / Raymond B. Fosdick (1883-1972) / Sir Francis Galton (1822-1911) / Arthur L. Gesell (1880-1961) / Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860-1935) / Madison Grant (1835-1937) / G. Stanley Hall (1844-1924) / Mrs. E.H. Harriman (1848-1909) / Richard Hernstein (1930-1994) / John Haynes Holmes (1879-1964) (Unitarian minister) / Oliver Wendall Holmes Jr. (1841-1935) / Lucien Howe (1848-1928) / Rev. R.C. Wright / Emile Zola (1840-1902) / etc. / Notice all the university chancellors in that list? Yale, Harvard, Stanford, etc. / Many Jewish rabbis promoted eugenics too, having their own version of “chosen people syndrome” = / Rabbi Rudolph Coffee / Rabbi Roswell Johnson / Rabbi Henry H. Meyer / Rabbi Stephen S. Wise / etc. / In the words of Rabbi Henry H. Meyer, “May we do nothing to permit our blood to be adulterated by infusion of blood of inferior grade.” / According to the Encyclopedia of American Civil Liberties, Vol. 1, 2006, “When the ideas behind eugenics were found far across the world, the United States led the way in their practical application with Indiana being the first state to pass a law enabling the sterilization of persons for eugenics purposes in 1907. A further twenty-two states passed similar laws by 1926, and by 1940, thirty states had passed eugenic sterilization laws, with California and Virginia being particularly strong proponents. Most states provided for involuntary eugenic sterilization, whereby the state could forcibly sterilize a person found to be unfit to have children, because such children would be a similar burden on society.” / In the same book, “The popularity of eugenics declined in the late 1930s, but involuntary sterilization continued in the United States until 1979, by which time over 60,000 Americans had been sterilized.” / California’s sterilization program was a model for Germany’s 1934 Law for the Prevention of Hereditarily Diseased Offspring.
