Yellow Fat & White Muscle Diseases

White Muscle Disease is just another way of saying Yellow Fat Disease.

They’re both caused by HUFAs and PUFAs — highly-unsaturated fatty acids (omega-3s) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-6).

HUFAs? Think EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).

According to Wikipedia …

“While the potential roles of DHA in the mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease are under active research, studies of fish oil supplements, which contain DHA, have failed to support claims of preventing cardiovascular diseases.”

(Somehow the Macho Medical Media Mafia assigned to monitor the Church of Wikipedia let the above statement slip through their surveillance network.)

So White Muscle Disease is Yellow Fat Disease under another name.

So is Nutritional Myodegeneration (NMD) and …

Nutritional Muscular Dystrophy

Mulberry Heart Disease

Hepatosis Dietetica

Stiff Lamb Disease

It’s politically incorrect to name the numerous human versions of Yellow Fat Disease.

According to “Nutritional Myopathies in Ruminants and Pigs,” The Merck Veterinary Manual, 2009-2015 …

“In mulberry heart disease, the characteristic lesions are a pericardial sac grossly distended with straw-colored fluid that contains fibrin strands, and extensive hemorrhage throughout the epicardium and myocardium. Microscopically, the heart shows both vascular and myocyte lesions; in addition to interstitial hemorrhage, there is usually extensive myocardial necrosis together with fibrin thrombi in capillaries.”

Yellow Fat Disease is the disease Doug & Mel don’t want you to know about …

Re: How does Yellow Fat Disease manifest in humans?

    Progressive Lipofuscinosis.

It’s also called Cumulative Lipofuscinosis — the progressive buildup of lipopigments.

It’s progressive entropy, ongoing deterioration, decline, decay, degradation, degeneration.

Lipopigments accumulate in the heart, liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, retina, nerves, mitochondria, lysosomes, etc.

Sounds a lot like aging, doesn’t it?

Joe Eszterhas (The Devil’s Guide to Hollywood: The Screenwriter as God, 2006) wrote …

“When MPAA president Jack Valenti told people that I was ‘desperately ill and needed immediate medical attention,’ I reminded people that Jack Valenti was the White House aide who briefed Lyndon Johnson in the West Wing bathroom each morning and handed him the toilet paper under the stall before he got his gig at the MPAA.”

Hi Atom, can you expand on this line a bit more please ?

      • April 27, 2016 @ 6:08 am Atom

Swami Nitty-Gritty — like Ray Peat — probably knew that carrots are a natural antibiotic.

I wonder if Ray Peat knows how common antibiotics are in nature?

Atom, do you still read magazines such as ‘New Scientist’ each month?

    • April 27, 2016 @ 6:17 am Atom

      I haven’t read a New Scientist since I left New Zealand. :(

And I miss my 19-hour-straight library marathons I used to have before the Internet seduced me!

Atom can you fill in the blank please…D.I.D is the extreme form of…? Thanks

      … personality splitting.

You’ve been reading my latest series of Sun Sync blog entries! :)

      • April 28, 2016 @ 5:42 am Matt

I remember you saying one time, I think, that DID was the extreme form of a positive spiritual endeavour?

(P.s. I’ve tried to join sun sync twice when iv had spare cash (and a beer or two) and being on a mobile, the ‘pathway’ to subscribe and pay hasn’t work, perhaps as on mobile and not desktop?)

        • April 28, 2016 @ 2:35 pm Atom

Synchronicity! Both your questions are related because I’m currently writing a blog series related to that on Sun Sync (Who Am I? I Might Be the Wallpaper).

Atom can you fill in the blank please…D.I.D (dissociative identity disorder) is the extreme form of………?

    • April 27, 2016 @ 6:23 am Atom

Gurdjieff dealt with D.I.D. extensively, probably even before psychiatrists had a name for it.

If excess protein is converted into glucose, then wouldn’t it be wiser for snacks to have a protein snack rather than fruit, as then, you’ll get the protein if your in need, and if not you’ll convert and get the sugar!?

Deamination is mildly toxic due to ammonia, ketones, etc.

It’s more toxic in the presence of PUFAs and HUFAs.

      • April 28, 2016 @ 12:42 am Matt

        Ketone are toxic?

        • April 28, 2016 @ 4:08 pm Atom

Shelly Fan (“The fat-fueled brain: unnatural or advantageous?,” Scientific American, Oct. 1, 2013) wrote …

“Due to its high fat nature, keto increases polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs, such as DHA and EPA, both sold over-the-counter as brain healthy’ supplements), which in turn reduces oxidant production and inflammation. Inflammatory stress is another ‘root of all evil’, which PUFAs target by inhibiting the expression of genes encoding for pro-inflammatory factors.”

Yes. DHA and EPA are increased.

No. Everything else is untrue, and leads to Yellow Fat Disease.

Maybe. Fasting to challenge the liver is a therapeutic possibility. Ketosis mimics starvation.

According to the same source …

“Remarkably, a long-term ketogenic diet does not seem to be associated with significant side effects, although constipation, dehydration and electrolyte and micronutrient deficiencies are common complaints. More serious complications include increased chance of kidney stones, gallbladder problems and bone fractures, especially in children. Menstrual irregularities often occur in women, with potential impact on fertlity. Although ketoacidosis — acidification of the blood due to pathological levels of ketones — was historically proposed as a side effect, nutritional ketosis simply cannot achieve the level of ketones required to induce this life-threatening state. Nevertheless, there are no studies directly monitoring the side effects of ketosis yet, hence it’s too early to conclude that the diet is completely safe for everyone.”

Reminds me of one of those prescription drug commercials on TV.

On your new anti HUFA and PUFA campaign, you said you regretted the mayo. But, I’m sure you weren’t on store bought?! There would be no H/PUFA’s in egg yolk, olive oil and salt?!

    • April 28, 2016 @ 4:19 pm Atom

There are usually few H/PUFAs in egg yolk and olive oil, and none in salt.

I was addicted to the PUFAs in Trader Joe’s Organic Mayonnaise (disregarding Swami Nitty-Gritty’s advice to make my own).

I’ve even had mayo dreams, once (in a dream) earning $14 a week in a part-time job delivering mayo to Abraham Lincoln at his mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

Then there was that Fudge-onnaise dream.

      Calling Dr. Freud !!!!!
