Inhaling the vapors of turpentine oil relieves respiratory congestion.

It’s also rubbed on skin to relieve pain.

It’s an essential oil used for a wide variety of ailments.

You may be eating it and not even know it.

Distilled turpentine oil is commonly used as a food flavoring.

It’s used in soap and cosmetics too.

It’s supposed to cure cancer, but, unfortunately, it triggers molecular oxygen that can’t even climb over cancer’s main gate to knock at its front door, much less gain access to its inner sanctum.

A systemic therapy works outside the gate – like a maintenance crew doing road repair after the storm.

A tissular therapy works in the front yard – like gardeners restoring the yard after the storm.

A cellular therapy works inside the house – like a plumber fixing the toilet that backed up due to the storm.

The right therapy working at the wrong location is worthless.

Emanuel Revici (Research In Physiopathology As Basis Of Guided Chemotherapy: With Special Application To Cancer, 1961) wrote …

“We investigated the effects of turpentine oil which is known to induce the appearance of peroxide in vitro. Highly oxidized through treatment with oxygen or especially bound to sulfur, turpentine oil has shown interesting pharmacological activity. An old therapeutic device was parenteral administration of turpentine oil to stimulate the defense mechanism in cases of septicemia. However, we saw no such stimulating effect in the fight against cancerous cells. The influence exerted upon the cellular level was quite reduced. The action of atomic oxygen appears to be different from that of the molecular …”

Septicemia and blood poisoning are older terms for what is now called sepsis.

Emanuel Revici (same source as above) also wrote …

“Typhoid infection gives lifelong immunity; the vaccination, only relative and temporary immunity. An explanation can be found in the fact that, in the disease, along with the septicemia, manifest changes occur in organs and tissues. Spleen and lymphatic tissues are highly affected in typhoid and it is possible that the development of the defense at their level would explain the lifelong immunity that follows the natural infection.

“In cancer, the problem would be to induce not a systemic defense, which is still present for invasive cancer, but an effective tissue or even cellular defense. Immunological treatment of cancer would have to make tissular and possibly cellular levels regain their capacity to defend themselves through efficient allergic responses. The immunological prevention of cancer would lie not in the creation of this defense or in increasing it quantitatively but enhancing it qualitatively. A successful allergic defense at this level apparently would have a preventive and even curative effect.”

Sepsis, a systemic inflammatory response stimulus (SIRS), is a whole-body inflammation, often complicated by shock and multiple organ failure.

According to the Global Sepsis Alliance …

“Between one-third and one-half of all sepsis patients die. In developing countries, sepsis accounts for 60-80% of all deaths. It kills more than 6 million infants and young children, and 100,000 new mothers every year. Every few seconds, someone in the world dies of sepsis.”

Turpentine oil works wonders at the systemic level.

Oscar L. Levin, M.D., & Emil Rose, M.D. (“Intramuscular Injection of Turpentine in the Treatment of Diseases of the Skin,” Archives of Dermatology and Syphilology, November, 1922) wrote …

“Subsequent to the publication of Fochier’s paper concerning the beneficial effect of the fixation abscess in combating septic disease, many writers, chiefly German, reported good results in a multitude of general infectious conditions. It remained for Klingmuller to introduce the injection of turpentine as a therapeutic agent in the treatment of diseases of the skin. A review of the literature on the subject reveals many enthusiastic reports.”

Drs. Leven & Rose continued …

“Fochier advanced the ‘fixation abscess’ theory in 1891. He believed that virulent septic infections form no pus foci. He sought to produce an artificial abscess by injecting subcutaneously turpentine oil that would ‘fix,’ exhaust and beneficially influence the general infection. He employed the fixation abscess in septic and pyemic processes, especially in puerperal fever, with excellent effect. He also believed that the fixation abscess has a great prognostic value, as no abscesses are formed by turpentine injections in severe infections. Among other enthusiastic sponsors of the fixation abscess theory are Senn, Revilliod, Gauthier, Colladon and Lepine. They employed the artificial abscess with gratifying results in pneumonia, typhus and otitis media. Pic used it with success in severe forms of erysipelas and other streptococcic infections. Sadli and Hodel administered turpentine with good results in influenza and pneumonia.”

Drs. Levin Rose preferred to use rectified turpentine oil. They wrote …

“Rectified turpentine oil, which we employed in more than 90 per cent of our cases, is formed from ordinary oil of turpentine by redistillation with lime water, in order to remove any acids and resin which may be contained in it. It is a volatile oil containing a large proportion of terpene, with comparatively little oxygen, and possesses a penetrating action. It has been shown that terpenes (C10H16) undergo a partial oxidation in the body and become terpenols (C10H15OH). The odor of the original oil or of these derivatives may often be detected in the breath, showing that a small part is excreted by the lungs, and possibly traces may be eliminated by the skin. Some escapes by the kidneys.”

Intramuscular rectified turpentine oil therapy works locally as well as generally, including the reflexive stimulation of the medulla oblongata.

Even the A.M.A. wasn’t afraid of the Mouth of God (medulla oblongata) back in the 1920s.

It might be wise to keep a supply of turpentine oil, rectified or otherwise, handy by your side in case Ebola pays a visit to your neighborhood.

WARNING: Turpentine oil has been used over and over again by hundreds of medical doctors, and there can be side effects.

Turpentine oil is not a supplement.

It’s a remedy to be used when other remedies fail.

This is especially true of internal and parenteral use.

Turpentine oil (no matter how “pure”) is a kidney poison.

      Thanks for the research Atom.
      Taking Turpintine or other strong
Essential oil as oregano internally can
Cause an appendicitis attack. I heard Dr. Massey
      Mention this also.

Thanks for the validation, David. :)

There seems to be three schools of applying essential oils, including authentic turpentine essential oil.

The “real deal” smells like liquorice.

        1) The German school focuses on inhalation.

        2) The British school focuses on topical application, usually diluting it in a carrier oil.

        3) The French school focuses on ingestion, and applies oils diluted or “neat” (undiluted).

I’m a minimalist when it comes to anything that goes into my mouth not classified as a “food.”

Some folks can get away with a lot more than I can – like the women who used to drink turpentine to make their urine smell like roses.

Asparagus isn’t the only thing that changes the odor of urine.

    Hi Atom,
you said “The Heart Meridian is a major mediator of weight optimisation”.
How could you use this to lose residual weight ?

Tomato juice and molasses alternating every three days between 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. is a good place to start. :)

You don’t seem to be getting my other replies at your e-mail address, John.

Let me know if you have a better e-mail address.

If someone’s appendicitis has been removed, is it ok to ingest turpentine, or oregano oil? In any/what amount?
    Thank you! :)

The vermiform appendix is an important part of our defense system.

(Swami Nitty-Gritty claimed it was an asset to astral projection.)

Rob Dunn (“Your Appendix Could Save Your Life: The humble organ may help us recover from serious infections,” Scientific American, Mar. 1, 2012) wrote …

“You may have heard that the appendix is a relic of our past, like the hind leg bones of a whale. Bill Parker, a professor of surgery at the Duke University School of Medicine, heard that, too; he just disagrees. Parker thinks the appendix serves as a ‘nature reserve’ for beneficial bacteria in our gut. When we get a severe gut infection such as cholera (which happened often during much of our history and is common in many regions even today), the beneficial bacteria in our gut are depleted. The appendix allows them to be restored. In essence, Parker sees the appendix as a sanctuary for our tiny mutualist friends, a place where there is always room at the inn.”

Rob Dunn (same source as above) wrote …

“Where does this leave us? In your body is an organ that appears to be helping out the bacteria in your life so they can, in turn, help keep you alive. More tests, even true experiments, need to be done before we can be sure. Until then, doctors will keep cutting out infected appendixes. When they do, when they hold them up, they hold up a symbol – a somewhat gross, pinky finger-size symbol – both of our complex relationship with other species and of how little we know.”

Many people have used spirits of turpentine and swear by it, often swallowing nine drops of it with or without castor oil and lemon juice.

Since it works by evoking a highly inflammatory response, I personally wouldn’t use it without having a serious reason to do so.

But modern medicine doesn’t acknowledge turpentine anymore despite its potential use against both sepsis and Ebola.

The fact that one person still dies every few seconds of sepsis in 2014 is reason enough for reconsidering an effective therapy that has been accidentally or purposefully forgotten.

It’s yet another case of Medical Amnesia.

Keep in mind that the active – and therapeutic – ingredients in oregano oil (carvacrol, thymol, cymene, and turpinine) are toxins, so the dose determines whether it’s medicine or poison.
